How do I download full eBooks from Ebsco?

  1. Install Thorium Reader

  • For personal/non‑UTS devices: Download free from: https://thorium.edrlab.org/en/

  • For UTS‑managed devices: Install from the UTS Company Portal.

  • For Mobile devices: Thorium mobile apps are not yet available. If mobile access is needed, alternative compatible apps you can use include: FBReader, Cantook by Aldiko, and Lis-a.

2. Create / Sign in to MyEBSCO

  • When selecting a full eBook download you will be prompted to sign in/ create a MyEBSCO account

  • Create/enter your MyEBSCO username and password

  • If applicable - confirm download duration or format

3. Copy the unique one‑time passphrase provided

4. Download the eBook

  • click Full Download, and the eBook file (LCP‑protected) will be saved to your device.

5. Open the eBook in Thorium Reader

  • Open Thorium Reader
  • Choose Import a Publication and select the downloaded file
  • When you open the eBook, Thorium will prompt you for the passphrase

  • The book unlocks and is ready for offline reading
