Word is unable to format some of my references because it can’t find them in my EndNote library, how can I fix this?

When your EndNote library can’t find a reference to match a citation that’s been inserted into Word, it won’t be able to format that reference properly, and will continually ask you about it. This situation often arises if you’ve inserted a reference into Word and then deleted it from EndNote, or if you’ve used a different EndNote library to insert it.
To move missing references from your Word document back into your EndNote library:
- In Word, select the EndNote tab then Export to EndNote
- Select Export Traveling Library
