All my EndNote citations look funny/ have hash symbols, how do I fix this?

Answer

If your EndNote citations come with curly braces and hash numbers, like this:

{Australian Government Productivity Commission, 2012 #22}

then the EndNote references in your Word document have become unformatted.

To turn formatting back on again, go to the EndNote tab in Word and select Update Citations and Bibliography.

Also ensure the Instant Formatting option is set to on.
