If you’re using a PC, and you’ve downloaded EndNote via the Library or the UTS website then you shouldn’t be asked for a product key. If the software is asking you for one, it’s probably because you haven’t unzipped the EndNote download package. You need to unzip this package before running the install wizard, which can usually be done by right clicking on the downloaded file and choosing the Extract All ... menu option.
If you’ve downloaded EndNote in a trial form from the internet, and then get asked for a product key, you won’t be able to use the software any further unless you pay for it. Uninstall this package and download the licensed version via UTS Library.
