Q. Do I need to put in page numbers if I’m paraphrasing?

Answer

Generally, unless instructed otherwise by your lecturer, you don’t need to use page numbers when paraphrasing. However, if you feel that it would be helpful to put a page number in for some text you are paraphrasing, then that is allowed in APA referencing. This can be especially useful if you are paraphrasing from a text with a large number of pages, like a book.
