How do I reference a journal article that has an article number?

Answer

For the APA referencing style, if you have a journal that has an article number, you reference it like a regular journal article, only you replace the page range with the article number.

The template looks like this:

Author, A. (Year). Article title. Journal Title, volume(issue), Article Number. DOI/URL

An example:

Burin, D., Kilteni, K., Rabuffetti, M., Slater, M., & Pia, L. (2019). Body ownership increases the interference between observed and executed movements. PLOS ONE, 14(1), Article e0209899. https://doi.org/10.1371/journal. Pone.0209899
