Why do I need to add my publications to OPUS if they are in Symplectic? What’s the difference?

Answer

OPUS is the UTS open access digital repository, which provides access to UTS research outputs to a world-wide audience. Symplectic Elements is the UTS research outputs management system where UTS researchers first record details of their research outputs.

Although your work may be recorded in Symplectic. you still need to deposit a digital copy of the work to OPUS in order to comply with the UTS Open Access Policy. This University policy requires UTS researchers to deposit their research outputs to OPUS to maximise dissemination and ensure equitable global access.

See Depositing to OPUS for further details.
